Then we ate dinner and went to As You Wish to paint pottery! Sammy is such a good artist and she DID NOT inherit that from me! When we got there I decided I wouldn't paint because it is kind of expensive and I don't ever like anything I paint. So, Sammy picked out her crown and colors and I got her all set up and as we sat down she said "mom, what are you painting?" I told her I wasn't going to paint my own thing...just help her. She was kind of sad and said " maybe you can paint the 'I love you' thing and give it to me"...I said ok and decided to paint with her. We had a great time painting (even though it was BLAZING hot in there and Sammy kept saying "Mom, I think it would colder OUTSIDE"...which is saying something since it's like a million degrees outside!) Anyway, as we are checking out the lady says "one kids paint time and 2 pottery's is a total of..(whatever it was)" At first I was like SCORE they didn't charge me to paint but then I decided it wasn't worth the guilt so I told her that I painted too and she said "that's ok...you just helped her" and I said " well you didn't charge me to paint" and she said "no, parents can help they just can't paint there own thing"...seriously, I had to drop it for my own self worth...the lady thought Sammy painted both things...I knew I wasn't a good artist! That is why any time I make an Enrichment craft or anything I NEVER hang it up because it doesn't look good...now I know...I paint like a 5 year old!

Girls Night Out!
Friday night, Sammy and I had a GIRLS NIGHT OUT! We had been wanting to do this since "the boys get to do everything" (ie Fathers and Sons Camp out). We started off getting pedicures and a little place by our house. This was Sammy's first pedicure and the second we sat down she said "when can we do this again" she loved being a big girl and she was super excited that I let her pick her nail polish color and flower and that I got the same thing as she did (she loves to match with me...she really needs a sister!)

Then we ate dinner and went to As You Wish to paint pottery! Sammy is such a good artist and she DID NOT inherit that from me! When we got there I decided I wouldn't paint because it is kind of expensive and I don't ever like anything I paint. This is cracking me up. Luke is WAY better than I am. So, you may paint like a 5 year old but I paint WORSE than one! That is so sweet that you got to do that. It was tradition in my house; as soon as the guys were out of the door for father's & sons (or whatever it would be) my mom & I had an awesome weekend being pampered & going shopping. It's something I look forward to sharing with Lilly.
Kyle, You are the coolest mom!! That sounds like a really fun night!! I love that she told you that you are her best friend! I got a little choked up as I read it! All totally worth it!! Who cares if you can't paint!
MOM OF THE YEAR!!!! FOR SURE! What a cute idea!! Sammy is so sweet, and cute! How FUN!
That is the cutest thing I have read- EVER! I can't wait until Lacy and I can do stuff like that. Best friends, awh... that is adorable. Such a good mom!
Wow, that is so sweet. It totally makes me want a little girl that I can go and do stuff like that with. I have a hard time imagining either of my boys being cool with a pedi!
That is the sweetest thing that Sammy suggested you paint the 'I love you' thing and give it to her! She will have fond memories of those girls' nights - I can tell from the pics that she is tinkled pink to be out with her mom.
That's hilarious Kyle! I'm really bad a drawing/painting as well, but that sounds like a fun place!
What a fun GNO! Melanie lives for those. We should do it together sometime.
You are so cute!! I love when I get one on one time with my kids like that!! You are such a great mom Kyl!
Stella would absolutely die if I took her get a pedicure! I thought I'd wait until she can actually say pedicure so that I can tell Elliot that she asked for it and justify the expense (Elliot is a penny-pincher). Sammy is so cute and you are such a great Mommy! I can tell that you absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE your kids!
So fun! You are such a sweet mommy.
How fun and what a good idea! She is so sweet!
