Valentines Day

On Valentines Day...these beautiful flowers were delivered to my house!  I was so excited!   I really love tulips!

When I opened up the card...I was a little confused...
I called Benson to see if he had ordered me flowers and he said yes...and I told him I didn't understand the card (sometimes Benson does weird things...and I thought maybe this was an inside joke that I had forgotten about) ....anyway, long story short...right flowers.  Wrong note.

That Johnny...he always remembers me on Valentines Day!

Ben's Baptism

On February 11, 2012 Ben was Baptized and Confirmed a member of the church by Benson!  It was such a special day for our family!  I am so proud of Ben and his good choices!  After getting over the disappointment that instead of having a Birthday party with presents he was having a Baptism and his gifts from us would be his scriptures and suit... He decided that it was great!  We had so many family and friends come and support Ben and it really means so much to me!  I am just SO MAD that I didn't get a big group shot...I swear I need to hire a photographer for things like this...I never get all the pictures I want!

Nate really wanted a picture with just Ben and him!  Nate really looks up to Ben and I am so glad he is such a good example.

After the Baptism we had a little lunch party at our house...

Garden

We finally planted a garden!!  About a year ago, I told Benson I wanted a garden...that turned into a total backyard makeover...and now the garden is planted!  I really hope these little seeds grow...or I am in big trouble!

Talent Show

Sammy performed in the school Talent Show in early February.  She played "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" on the piano.
Here is a picture with her friend, Tavin, who was also in the Talent Show!

Lucy has been SO EXCITED to go to school lately...when we went to see Sammy at the Talent Show she insisited on bringing her backpack...so cute!

Ben's 8th Birthday

How can it be??? Ben turned 8 years old on January 29th!! He was up so late the night before (at Monster Jam) and it was so hard to get him to wake up early (for church)...but the smell of his very favorite breakfast did the trick....Monkey Bread!!  (side note: the day before Benson and I spent the day painting our kitchen table black...we haven't finished recovering the chairs yet...so I will have to post pics later)
Ben was DYING to open a present...so we let him open one...
 His very own scriptures...
For dinner he picked homemade pancakes with buttermilk syrup...and wanted his pancakes to be in the shape of an "8"...
Ben was born on my Dad's Birthday...they came over to celebrate with us....
Ben was so excited (even though it doesn't look like it) to get stuff for Cub Scouts...including his own pocket knife!
 HAPPY BIRTHDAY BEN!!!

MONSTER JAM

Since Ben isn't having a Birthday party this year (just his Baptism party)...Benson decided to take the 2 boys to Monster Jam the night before Ben's Birthday...to celebrate!  All 3 boys had a blast...and turns out Ben now wants to be a Monster truck driver when he grows up :)

CABIN TRIP

A couple weekends ago we went to the cabin...Benson kept taking day trips with the kids to go skiing...so I decided to come along and take the other kids to play in the snow!  So, the first day...Benson and Ben went skiing and the rest of us were stuck at the cabin with no car...but lots of snow to play in!

Lucy loved pulling this baby doll in the sled...one time the sled tipped and she ran to her baby and started singing to her and saying "its ok, baby"
Nate liked to "snow surf" down the hill...
Sammy made the worlds smallest snow man!
And we had a snowball fight...

The next day...Benson and Ben hung out with us and my sister (Reagan) and her family came up as well!  Her kids had never been to the snow...so we took them to our favorite sledding hill...

Then we went back to the cabin where Benson helped the kids make snow forts and then had a huge snowball fight...it was pretty funny!

Ben Snow Skiing

Originally, Ben wasn't interested in snow skiing...but after Sammy and Nate came home talking about how much fun it was...he changed his mind!  So Benson and Ben spent a day at Sunrise...and Ben LOVED skiing! He can't wait to go again!
