This morning I was talking with Ben and ask him "do you know your middle name?" I know it seems weird that he is 4 1/2 and doesn't know his real name but we NEVER call him Benson or use his middle name..so for some reason this morning I decided to tell him his REAL name (For the record, I do not like when people call him Benson..and when I say I do not like I am saying that because we have a rule in our house that we don't say the word HATE... but that is pretty much how I feel about people calling Ben "Benson")
He said "no" so I told him "your name is Benson Donald Bashford" he didn't say much and just went off and played. A couple of minutes later he said "Mom, do you wanna know my pickle name?...its Ben McDonald's Bashford"
As always with Ben something gets lost in translation and he heard pickle instead of middle and McDonald's instead of Donald! Oh, I love that kid (and notice he did not call himself Benson!)

Too funny the way kids translate what we say. Oh and thanks for the book shout out, I've never heard of them, what age group is it for.

Aren't kids that age funny? Today after Ashley's doctors appointment I told her I was glad that we would finally have some answers about why her tummy hurts so much. She said, "what kind of cancer?" I'm glad she asked so I could clarify that I didn't mean cancer.
That is classic!! He is so cute! One for the memory books!
That is so cute! I love how kids confuse words...this story will be a classic when he's older.
