Chopsticks

Benson taught the kids how to use chopsticks tonight at dinner. Benson loves to eat with chopsticks...and considering we have a million pairs (he brought home a bunch from his mission..he said he brought a pair home for his future wife and children...I don't know how many kids he thought we were having?!) Anyway, Benson was eating his dinner with chopsticks and the rest of us (that can see the ease of a fork) were eating like Americans...Nate thought the chopsticks looked fun so he grabbed Benson's pair and he started eating with them...then of course, everyone wanted to try.... Nate was surprisingly really good at it and ate most of his dinner with chopsticks (we did feed him more than rice but that was all that was left when I got my camera out....and he loves rice)
Ben (who is the pickiest eater in the world) ate all kinds of things with his new toy...I don't think he was using them the right way...but who cares? When Benson was giving the kids their lesson on chopsticks he decided to give them a little history. The conversation went like this...Benson says "who knows what countries use chopsticks?" silence...Benson "Japan, China, Korea..." then Ben says "I KNOW!! I know who uses chopsticks." Benson "okay, who Ben?" then Ben says proudly "Joseph Smith...I've seen him" WHAT??? So, there you have it Ben has SEEN Joseph Smith and he was eating with chopsticks...miracle!

Sammy ate her dinner with them too. She was so proud of every bite...seriously, do the Japanese know that their is a lovely invention called FORKS!? I don't get it..but it's fun!

Your kids are more talented than I am!! I can't eat with chop sticks. I have tried but I always am too hungry to be patient, so I just use a fork.

I busted out laughing, "Seriously, how many kids did he think he was going to have?" That's so funny...better over prepared than under, right? ;) That's really cute. The pictures are so cute! Your kids are just so adorable!

Wow! I'm impressed, I can't even use chopsticks!! Exactly how many chopsticks did Benson by... more than six, less than twelve? :)

I love it. I've heard that using chopsticks is a good way to loose weight. Mostly because its so hard to get the food into your mouth :) Give the kids forks before they wither away!!! I'm just kidding, that is adorable!

Joseph Smith eating from chopsticks??? That is so funny! I have never been able to figure out chopsticks...maybe Benson should teach us all at our next game night:)

That is awesome! At least it got them eating stuff they wouldn't normally eat. Jordan wraps everything in a tortilla and my boys will eat it. Just making the norm a tad different seems to thrill kids!

I am with Benson. For whatever reason I have a real aversion to eating chinese food with a fork. It doesn't taste the same, I guess. Weird. I know.

Don't you love that any question you ask little kids have two answers: Jesus or Joseph Smith. Love it!

Wayyyy too funny that he said Joseph Smith eats with chopsticks. I love children! They are so random and hillarious!
