Trunk or Treat

Saturday was the ward Trunk or Treat...we started off eating chili (except we didn't eat chili) after how many years I finally figured out that 1. my kids don't really like chili 2. when at any function with lots of people my kids don't want to sit down and eat anything (even if they do like it) and 3. if my kids don't want to sit down and eat then Benson and I don't really get to sit down and eat...therefore, we ate before we came and let our kids pig out on the cornbread and rootbeer while they chased their friends around. Sammy, Ben, Mason, and Maya
Ben and his buddy Brendan...don't they look strong?

Nate likes to march to the beat of his own drummer and REFUSED to wear his Buzz Lightyear costume...even though he wore it all afternoon. He is so stubborn...hopefully 3 is better than 2 for this kid (he turns 3 next month)! Anyway, after the chili (that we didn't eat) there were tons of carnival games and a scary haunted house that I made my kids go through and they screamed the whole time...I actually think they liked it though. Then we did the whole trunk or treating thing...I think they think Halloween is over...they will be pleasantly surprised on Friday.

Benson stressed out about his costume...he went with a tennis player? I think...I don't know he had a big afro and sweat bands on...gotta love him!
Well...I have been wanting a new camera for quite sometime and Benson kept telling me.."your camera is fine" so I have been PATIENTLY waiting for Christmas because all I was going to ask for was a new camera....
As we were backing out from the trunk or treat I look at the ground and said "wait there is my camera" and Benson says "I think I ran over it"...I get my camera and turn it on and it is totally shattered and I said "I swear I didn't do that on purpose"...luckily I saved my pics from the night and luckily I get a new camera :) and hopefully soon there will be lots of picture moments this week...pumpkin carving, Halloween parties, trick or treating, and Samantha is performing at the State Fair!

I did the dumbest thing last year and went out to purchase my new camera the day AFTER Halloween.

They have a nice Nikon deal at Costco right now if you're looking for an SLR. That's what I got last year and I've loved every minute of it. I'm asking for a new lens for Christmas this year.

What a fun party! The kids look soooo cute!

What kind of a camera are you going to get? That's "convenient" that your old one was run over. ;)

I never saw Sammy that night... she looks SO cute!

CONGRATULATIONS on the new camera... I've been begging Ryan for a new one sometime now... I guess I just need to stick it under his car tire! Is that how its done? :)

I can't believe Benson ran over your camera! What a sad way to end trunk-or-treat! Hope you enjoyed your movie last night...what it as racy as Jen thought? :)

Hey Kyle,
great way to manuver the camera 'incident'! By the time the new baby arrives you'll be a pro with your new camera I'm sure. Speaking of which; CONGRATS! It seems like every one I know is pregnant right now - it's so exciting!

i want to know what you dressed-up as?! i feel the same way about ward dinners - they always have good intentions, but i'm always way stressed chasing my kids down and never get to really talk to anyone (my husband seems to manage it somehow though . . .). So, your kids look great! happy halloween~!

How did I not see you guys that night? Love Benson's afro. "Sorry" about your camera. (Is that what I'm supposed to say?) :0)

Kyle,
Congratulations on baby #4! How fun that I am expecting at about the same time as you (May 9th)! Wow, I just got caught up on your blog...such great pictures and great memories! You are such a fun Mom...I can't believe how many activities and crafts you do....and while pregnant! How do you do it all? I was also nostalgic about the ward Halloween party....it felt weird that I wasn't there! We miss you guys. Let's get together sometime.
