Sammy and Ben loved jumping back and forth from the hot tub to the big pool!

Nate relaxing and eating his pizza!
Yesterday, Britany invited us over to swim at her mom's heated pool! The kids were so excited to go swimming and I was excited to get a break from my busy nesting schedule (I'm a crazy lady and have been organizing like mad)!We decided to pick up some pizza, eat lunch, and swim our afternoon away! Right when we got there the kids were in their suits so we went outside to eat and of course the kids could care less about lunch...they wanted to go swimming so they all jump in the hot tub...my kids can swim, right? I mean I have spent hundreds of dollars on swim lessons and its just a hot tub so I honestly wasn't worried about it! About a minute later I say "I guess we should move closer to the hot tub so we can actually see the kids" and I start a little head count...where's Nate?? I run over and NATE IS UNDER THE WATER! I have no idea how long he was under so I jump in (fully dressed) and rescue him...he immediately is coughing and totally with it so he must not have been under long THANKFULLY! I feel totally blessed that we had the thought to move closer when we did because honestly even though we were just a few feet away I couldn't see inside the hot tub! I totally know better than that and I feel so bad that I even let it happen!
So I go change in to my swim suit and I only had to save Nate from drowning one more time! Luckily, I have already signed him up for swim lessons this summer...Seriously! I thought he knew how to swim!!!
Anyway, after the first 15 minutes the drowning drama was over and Nate learned his limits! And we ended up swimming for 3 hours! At first all 3 of my kids were being very timid and nervous (Nate's near drowning probably didn't help anything)! But after a while they were all swimming really well! We kept saying we would be done swimming when the meltdowns started...but they never did! The kids did awesome and now we are all burnt to a crisp!!
So, I guess mother of the year goes to me...not watching my kid close enough around water AND letting them all get fried (for the record...I did put sunblock on them...I just forgot to re-apply)!

What an awesome-looking pool! I'm glad you had a good time, and that Nate was OK, too. You're a great mom, Kyle!
Sounds like a good day overall. And keep up the nesting! I am totally benefiting from all your organizing. I still get shocked every time I walk in the room and see eight HUGE bags of clothes to go through, but I am excited.
that is so scary. That happened to Mason when he was about 2 1/2, it stays with you for a long time. All the "what if's". Glad you were in tune with the spirit :)
YAY! You are back to blogging! That is SO scary about NATE!! That is my BIGGEST fear in life!!! I'm glad he's ok! Also, you can still be mother of the year... Nate is ok, and sunburns go away!!! :) I love Sammy's new look! SO CUTE!
