This weekend we took a trek to my parents cabin to play in the snow. My kids have been begging us to take them since we started decorating for Christmas (which Ben refused to take part in because it "wasn't even snowing yet"). So Christmas has come and gone and my kids couldn't figure out why they hadn't seen snow...so this weekend was a great opportunity to take them since it had just snowed in the mountains. We had such a great time and our friends (Jeremy, Britany, Maya, and Kenyon) came along which added more fun to the party!
So just a side not to the trip...not only were the kids super excited but so was I...I am a true Arizona girl and this is the most snow I have ever been in. I have only been in the snow 3 times in my whole life and one of those times I was like 5 years old. I have no memory of ever being in the snow as it is falling...I am truly deprived :) SO needless to say I was praying that it would snow while we were there...but no luck! This was also the first time that I had ever been sledding...It was SUPER fun!
Anyway, we went sledding (Nathans favorite), had snow ball fights (Ben's favorite), and built 4 snowmen (Sammy's favorite). The only bad part was that Nathan got really sick and had a hard time sleeping...so sad!

Sorry you have sick kids! Hope they all get on the mend quickly.
Looks like you had a super trip. My kids are desperate to see snow, but since I grew up in it, I am not missing it. We need to get up to the mountains before it all melts, I guess.
I love how you have to travel to play in the snow! Reminds me of good ol' AZ days. Glad you had fun!

Great pics! The snow is fun to play in but not so much to live in - just my not-so-humble opinion. Glad you had so much fun. Sorry your little one got sick. Hope he's feeling better!

So glad you got to play in the snow. And I can't believe this was a first time sledding for you!!! You are deprived! Come visit us next time the forecast calls for snow! We don't get a lot in our neighborhood so we have to "travel" 15 minutes. (:

Hey, Kyle! I'm glad you found my page. I loved reading your blog - I haven't seen you since Dave's reception when you brought 2-week-old Samantha with you. You and Benson have some really cute kids!

Wow Kyle...I had no idea that you've never been sledding! How fun. I think EVERYONE went up to see the snow this past week.
What a fun weekend. You are so lucky your parents have a cabin you can go to and get away. Looks like the kids had a blast.
So funny, I was just looking at your playlist and noticed that you like the song apologize. My brother in law has a record label and one of the guys he just signed was named Benson Paul and he did a club version of this song and it actually got to be in the top 20 for club songs. Small world, but the song is more my style when this guy sings it because it's more calm the club version is all crazy.
