Today while walking out of the gym I told Nate "Now we are going to go vote!" and he said "yes!" (insert fist pump)...pleasantly surprised by his enthusiasm to fulfil his civic duty albeit shocked I say "why are you so excited?" He says, "I LOVE root beer floats, yum!"
After explaining to him that there would be no root beer floats I said the word "V-O-T-E" slowly for him and we went to the school waited in line..entertained Lucy...passed out gum...saw Nate friends from school...and filled out the ballot (I really need to remember to get an absentee ballot next time!)
On the way out I ask Nate if he liked voting and he said "yeah, but mom I didn't see ONE boat in there so its not real boating!"

That is so funny. I picked up Lacy from school and it was the SAME story!!! She asked if we had to drive to the lake to do it, and I said why?? She said well boat's are usually on a lake, so we had to sound and spell vote and had to try and explain to a 5 year old about voting. So fun!
I LOVE that story! So funny. You know, despite your valiant effort, I'm guess he just wasn't impressed with the whole voting process. No boats, no treats, what's the big deal?
